Founded in March 2023, Chroma Energy Group is a firm that operates nationwide with a focus on solar installation while having an eye toward future growth into additional renewable energy sources and products, including renewable energy storage systems and other clean technology initiatives.

Chroma has rapidly scaled, establishing a robust portfolio of over 120 megawatts in solar, battery storage projects and contracting services across diverse sectors including federal government entities, utility, industrial and commercial clients.

With a team of certified in-house solar photovoltaic (PV) installers and experts, Chroma Energy Group can design and install commercial solar panels and arrays, microgrids, utility scale solar projects, EV chargers and more. Our projects, currently concentrated in the Southeast, reflect our mission to revolutionizing energy consumption in Knoxville and East Tennessee.

CEO

Ed Rottmann

Ed Rottmann founded Chroma Energy Group in 2023 to apply his extensive experience in strategic planning and operations, business development and customer satisfaction to the energy industry.

Before founding Chroma, Ed served as the Chief Operating Officer for Stowers Machinery – one of the top five Caterpillar distributors in North America. During his tenure, the company achieved 43% market share, which is #2 in North America, and three consecutive Caterpillar gold-level awards for operational excellence.

Ed earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Kentucky and his master’s in business administration at Vanderbilt University. He serves as board president for the historic Tennessee Theatre, Men of Valor and the Tennessee Road Builders Association.

Jacob Duncan

Before joining Chroma Energy Group, Jacob Duncan served as co-owner of Bailey and Duncan Contracting, an East Tennessee grading and hardscape contractor.

Jacob earned his bachelor’s degree in business management and entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee.

Jacob Barker

Jacob has worked in the renewable energy industry for nearly a decade. He spent six years at Efficient Energy of Tennessee, Chroma Energy Group’s predecessor.

Jacob earned his bachelor’s degree in biosystems engineering at the University of Tennessee.

Beth Rebarcak

Beth Rebarcak is the controller at Chroma Energy Group. She has 20 years of experience in finance and administration and has worked in the solar industry for five years.

Mike Butler

Mike Butler is a NABCEP-certified solar installation professional with over 15 years of photovoltaic installation experience.

Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in physics and rhetoric from Wabash College. He also earned a teaching license at Colorado State University, before teaching high school physics and computer science.

Matt Caldwell

Matt Caldwell is a NABCEP-certified solar installation professional and system inspector with over 10 years of experience in civil, mechanical, and electrical operations.

Preconstruction Support Analyst

Tom McManaway

Tom McManaway is an Operational Support Analyst with over 20 years of experience designing and constructing solar projects. Over his career, Tom served on project sites and provided back-office support.

Tom holds certifications in computer-aided design, surveying and rough terrain forklift operation. He is a certified stormwater pollution prevention plan inspection inspector and OMAX Water-Jetting Systems inspector. He’s also an OSHA 30-hour course certified trainer.

Tristan Williams

With 8 years in the electrical field, including 5 years serving in the U.S. Navy Seabees, Tristan has worked on a range of high-impact construction projects overseas. Experienced in electrical systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, Tristan is known for delivering quality results in diverse and challenging environments.

Chris Carris

Chris Carris graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Mechanical Engineering degree. He spent two years designing automation machinery in the automotive industry. Now, he’s thrilled to be part of the Chroma team where he can pursue his passion for sustainability and make a real impact in the renewable energy sector. He looks forward to working with the team to create a greener future.

Maintenance Manager

Elmer Zunun

Elmer Zunun has been a maintenance manager at Chroma Energy Group for over 10 years.

Elmer maintains Chroma’s installed systems, as well as the Chroma warehouse. He also operates piledriving equipment for solar racking systems.

Jessica Salvo

Jessica Salvo is the office and HR manager at Chroma Energy Group. She was born and raised in New York, where she got her bachelor’s degree in business management. After moving down south over twelve years ago, she knew this was where she wanted to plant roots and start a family. With over a decade of experience in management and human resources, Jessica has built a reputation for her strategic approach to talent management and her commitment to fostering positive employee relations. She is dedicated to empowering organizations by building strong, motivated teams and developing an environment where employees can thrive both personally and professionally. Her commitment to excellence, combined with her interpersonal skills, makes her the perfect fit to lead the culture, quality, and growth initiatives for Chroma Energy Group.

Josh Swiney

Josh began his renewable energy career in 2014. With his is previous experience in project management and logistics paired with his expansive networking skills, he brings great insight and resources to the Chroma team. He looks forward to helping Chroma Energy Group expand further into the renewable energy industry. When he’s not busy with his role as site superintendent, he enjoys spending time with his family and coaching travel softball.

Edwin Alley

Before joining Chroma, Edwin worked in the automotive industry. He has a background in vehicle maintenance and repair as well as diagnostics. At Chroma Energy Group, he serves as a foreman and is excited to absorb all there is to learn from the outstanding people that came before him.

Zachary Cutler

Zachary Cutler has always had a passion for clean, renewable energy. He began his education pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering but has since redirected his passion, graduating with a degree in Biosystems Engineering from the University of Tennessee. He’s excited to be a part of the team at Chroma Energy Group, where he can continue his interest in providing clean energy to his community.

Erick Murillo

Erick Murillo is a Mechanical Foreman with 2 years of experience in the renewable energy sector. Over his career, he has successfully installed projects totaling 10 MW of power. He earned trade certificates in Photovoltaic installation & Industrial systems from Georgia Northwestern Technical College.

Vincent Streeter

Vincent Streeter dedicated five years to serving in the United States Marine Corps. After his military tenure, he spent two years installing rooftop solar panels on residential homes, honing his skills in the renewable energy sector. Now residing in Tennessee after relocating from Idaho, he is eager to expand his expertise and grow with Chroma Energy Group.
